The Israeli Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has released the names of the Israeli hostages set to be freed in Gaza on Thursday, also confirming that five Thai nationals will be among those released.
The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) announced today that mediators from Qatar and Egypt have received a list of names from Hamas, which includes Arbel Yehud (29), Agam Berger (19), and Gadi Moses (80). The identities of the five Thai citizens set to be released have not yet been disclosed. In total, 33 Israeli hostages, captured during the October 7 attacks by Hamas and other armed groups, are scheduled to be released in the first phase of a ceasefire and hostages' release agreement between Israel and Hamas. Two rounds of releases have already occurred.
On Monday, Israeli government spokesperson David Mencer confirmed that eight of the remaining Israeli hostages set to be released have died.
As part of the agreement, Israel will also release nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners in the first phase.
The ceasefire has provided a temporary respite for the people of Gaza, who have endured over 15 months of Israeli airstrikes since the October 7 attacks.
